Handy Andy is now BLINDS360
After 55 years, Handy Andy The Window Blind Source at 65 White Plains Road in White Plains, has changed our name to Blinds360. The new name re-energizes the brand in the competitive window covering industry, while the company retains the reliable staff and personal, guaranteed service on which it’s built a half a Century of success.
“We’re still true to our Handy Andy history and fully guarantee our expert installation and custom personal service, but we realized it’s time to update our image to more clearly communicate everything we do for windows,” says co-owner Richard Weinberger. He and twin brother, Alan Weinberger, acquired the family business from their father Gilbert, in 1977.
Handy Andy began as a paint, wallpaper and floor tile franchise in 1958, during the popular “do-it-yourself” craze of the 1950’s and has grown into the largest full-service window treatment company in Westchester County. In the early days, window treatments were a small part of the business, but in the late 1970’s brothers Richard and Alan saw a niche. They followed the trends from scalloped-edged roller shades to mini-blinds to vertical blinds, and made windows their focus.
Today, the family operated business offers custom blinds, shades, draperies and motorized window coverings to residential, industrial, architectural and designer clients in Westchester, Manhattan, Greenwich and the Hamptons with an emphasis on the high-end designer market. With over 50,000 installations, the brothers say they have worked on just about every street in Westchester County. “If we haven’t done your neighbors windows, then we have probably done their neighbor’s windows,” Richard said.
To fully connect with the designer market, the Weinberger brothers made the decision to re-brand the name of the company, while keeping the same trusted expertise that our customers have relied upon since the company was founded over 55 years ago.
“Blinds360 is our new face to the world, a fresh look in the industry and a refined commitment to offering our customers a full circle of service, style and selection,” said Alan.
